SUMMARY:Half-Day Meditation | Los Gatos | Mindfulness with Breathing #3
DESCRIPTION:A meditation program with Shaila Catherine\nTopic — Mindfulness with Breath: 16 Easy to Follow Steps that Develop Concentration and Liberating Insight\nThe Buddha described mindfulness with breathing as a practice of joy. His teachings on mindfulness with breathing were preserved in The Anapanasati Sutta—a discourse that presents sixteen practical instructions that together map an accessible\, joyful\, comprehensive\, and liberating approach to mindfulness. \nThis systematic structure is clearly described in the ancient texts\, yet divergent interpretations have developed regarding how to put the instructions into practice. In this series\, Shaila Catherine will offer her own interpretations of the 16-step sequence and provide snapshots of perspectives promoted by other widely respected dharma teachers. This in-depth consideration of the Anapanasati Sutta will demonstrate how meditation on breathing can deepen both concentration and insight\, and lead efficiently to a direct experience of awakening. \n\nSeptember 19\, 2026 — Always Mindful with Breathing\nOctober 24 — Specific Phases of Breathing\nDecember 5 — Total Experience of Breathing\nJanuary xx\, 2027 — Calmness with Breathing\nFebruary xx — Joy with Breathing\nMarch xx — Pleasure with Breathing\nApril xx — Clarity with Breathing\nMay xx — Harmony with Breathing\nJune xx — Experiencing Your Own Mind with Breathing\nJuly xx — Gladdening Your Mind with Breathing\nAugust xx — Concentrating Your Mind with Breathing\nSeptember xx — Liberating Your Mind with Breathing\nOctober xx — Insights into Impermanence with Breathing\nNovember xx — Disenchantment while Breathing\nDecember xx — Cessation while Breathing\nJanuary xx\, 2028 — Relinquishment while Breathing\n\nOur half-day meditation programs nurture the development of mindfulness\, concentration\, and full awareness in activities.
