Anthony “T” Maes has practiced Theravada Buddhist meditation since 2003, including long retreats and practicing in a monastery in Thailand. “T” graduated from UC Berkeley in 2004, then worked in psychology research on mindfulness at UCSF before shifting careers toward teaching and seeing clients one-on-one. Today he is a Dharma teacher at Spirit Rock and East Bay Meditation Center. He also teaches secular mindfulness retreats for teens and young adults at Inward Bound Mindfulness Education, and a Relational Mindfulness retreat in Panama in the summer. He completed the 3-year Organic Intelligence practitioner training, which informs his approach to trauma-sensitive mindfulness.
