Concentration and the Focused Mind

This day-long program will emphasize the cultivation of concentration by using the breath as the primary meditation subject. The practice will encourage a relaxed, skilled, and calm attention, cultivated through sitting and walking meditation, and applicable to daily life. The teachings will nurture tranquility, introduce the blissful absorption states called jhana, and explore the vital role that concentration plays in the development of the mind. This program is appropriate for both new and experienced meditation practitioners.
