Tuesday Online—Ying Chen—Living a Dharma Life

an evening of meditation and teaching

with Ying Chen

February 16, 2021

How does your dharma life look like? Does it look like a fixed schedule where you meditate at a fixed time each day, or does it look like some retreat vacation where you get a temporary recharge from time to time? In this talk, we explore how walking the Dharma path involves all aspects of our lives. To engage in dharma practices is to live a Dharma life, nothing excluded. When we open our dharma practice up to include all aspects of our lives, our relationships, our work, our chores, our inner being and our outer being, we allow Dharma to guide us in life.

Please join us on Zoom. This event is appropriate for newcomers as well as experienced practitioners. The evening includes silent or guided meditation and teachings.

TEACHERS: Please visit our Teachers Page for biographies and photos of our speakers.

TUESDAYS ONLINE: Due to coronavirus concerns, we have converted our Tuesday evening meeting to an online format with teachings offered by Shaila Catherine and an array of guest teachers. This online group meets 6:30 – 8:00 PM Pacific Time, which makes it possible for local members to join us after their workday, and for East Coast friends to sit with us before bed.

Everyone is welcome. Please share this event with your friends.

DANA/DONATIONS: IMSB relies upon the generosity of participants to support our teachers and cover organizational expenses that continue whether we are meeting in-person or online. Dana is a word in the ancient Pali language that describes donations, offerings and generosity. We encourage you to give joyfully and generously, according to your resources and means. IMSB is a 501(c) (3) organization. All donations are tax deductible as permitted by law.

Please support our programs and teachers with your donations. We especially encourage recurring monthly donations to help us through these difficult months of the pandemic. Donations can be made through our Donation Page. Recurring donations can be made through Network for Good or PayPal.

FUTURE IN-PERSON GATHERINGS: When it is wise to do so, Insight Meditation South Bay anticipates continuing our program of two weekly meditation programs. On Tuesdays, we meet in Mountain View for our drop-in weekly program of meditation and teachings. Our Tuesday evening program usually includes a sitting meditation and Dhamma talk. The principal teacher is Shaila Catherine and guest speakers are featured regularly. Thematic series are periodically presented, but whether or not a topic has been advertised in advance, Shaila or a guest teacher will lead the sitting and offer teachings. On Thursdays, we meet in Saratoga for our Dhamma Classroom, for a series of structured courses with registration, and periodic drop-in practice events.
