Self and Not-Self: Five clinging aggregates and the construction of identity.
with Shaila Catherine.
This weekend program is an in-depth exploration of the formations that construct identity. We will focus on the traditional model of the five aggregates affected by clinging—materiality, feeling, perception, formations, consciousness. This model offers meditators a powerful way to experientially realize how selfing occurs in contact with experiences. Exploring the five aggregates can refine our meditative experience and clarify the most potent objects for vipassana contemplation. The program will include sutta study and discussion, blended with experiential reflections and guided meditations to reveal how the psychophysical process is experienced as a self, and how seeing things as not-self is liberating.
Registration is required.
