A day of meditation with Shaila Catherine.
This day-long program will explore our relationship to mental states and what is actually occurring within our own minds. Many different thoughts, attitudes, emotions, and mental states arise in our lives. By cultivating mindfulness of the mind, we learn to recognize any emotion, reaction, or state with clarity and balance. Mindfulness can free us from the seductive force of habitual tendencies, and provide the opportunity to transform patterns and bring wisdom to our choices in life.
The program will include sitting and walking meditation, instructions, and opportunities for individual meetings with the teacher. This practice day is appropriate for new and experienced meditators, drop-in participants, and dedicated Walking the Path members.
There will be a pot-luck community meal at 12:30; please bring a food dish to share.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME. Chairs are provided. Bring a cushion and mat if you prefer to sit on the floor. The floor is not carpeted.
